A380 Penn Inn roundabout to Splatford Split (north and southbound)
What we are doing
We are undertaking a variety of highway maintenance work which include:
- road restraint system (crash barrier) re-tensioning
- safety-related work – identified from routine inspections
- tree work
- sign replacement/cleaning
- cats eyes replacement
- re-lining of existing road markings
- grass cutting
- bridge inspections and design walkthroughs for future planned work
The work is being programmed together to minimise disruption to the travelling public.
Phase 1 – road will be closed from Penn Inn roundabout to Eagle Farm on 15 and 16 June (7pm to 7am)
Phase 2 – road will be closed from Eagle Farm to Splatford Split from 17 to 19 June (7pm to 7am)
Why we have to close the road
We must ensure the safety of our workforce and the public, and in order to comply with our safety guidelines we are unable to carry out this work without a road closure.
We have a duty to direct traffic along a similar standard of road to that being closed so that all vehicles, including large articulated vehicles, can safely use the diversion route.
Traffic management personnel will be stationed at each on-slip to advise the travelling public as necessary.
Public and school bus service
All bus services will be kept informed as necessary through the road closure process.
