Traffic information

A376 Clyst St Mary

What are we doing?

We are carrying out carriageway resurfacing work overnight from 21st September to 2nd October 2020 excluding weekends on the A376 Clyst St Mary Roundabout and approach roads, as it has reached the end of its serviceable life. The work will be carried out under night-time closures, due to traffic volumes and re-opened during the day.

When and where are we closing the road?

Monday 21st September 2020 to Friday 2nd October 2020
Monday 21st September 2020 to Friday 2nd October 2020

Why do we have to close the road?

Traffic Management is needed due to the type of works, width of the road and for the safety of the workforce. Works will be done at night; between the hours of 7pm – 7am under a road closure, in order to minimise the disruption to the public and to manage operating hours of local businesses.

The full diversion route can be found on one.network.

Why is there such a long diversion route?

The local authority is obliged to sign diversions that use roads of the same classification to the road that is temporarily closed.  Drivers may choose to use local knowledge to identify alternative, and possibly shorter, routes.

How is local traffic being handled?

The may be alternative routes available around the scheme through accessible lanes, however drivers may choose to use local knowledge to identify alternative, and possibly shorter, routes. This is not the official diversion route, and caution should be taken if drivers decide to use non official routes.
