Works Delayed – Scheme Update
Due to adverse weather conditions, one day has been lost from the scheme programme and has been re-scheduled for Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd of June. The resurfacing works will now be carried out at night from 7pm to 7am under a road closure on Monday and Tuesday.
Please note: No works will take place on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June, the road will remain fully open.
What are we doing?
We are carrying out carriageway resurfacing work on the 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th and 22nd of June on the A3122 at Dreyton Cross, Blackawton – Dartmouth, as it has reached the end of its serviceable life. The work will be carried out under day-time closures, but please note there will be no weekend working and the road will remain fully open during this time.
When and where are we closing the road?
|Tuesday 16th June to|
Monday 22nd June between the hours of 7am to 7pm
Why do we have to close this road?
Traffic Management is needed due to the width of the road and for the safety of the workforce.
Works will be carried out;
- Tuesday 16th to Monday 22nd of June between the hours of 7am – 7pm under a Road Closure.
- We will try to re-open the road earlier than 7pm where it is possible and suits working arrangements.
- On Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st of June, no working will take place and the road will remain fully open.
The Road Closure and Official Suggested Diversion Route can be found here.
Why is there such a long diversion route?
The local authority is obliged to sign diversions that use roads of the same classification to the road that is temporarily closed. Drivers may choose to use local knowledge to identify alternative, and possibly shorter, routes.
How is local traffic being handled?
Where the only access to the residence property is through the road closure vehicles will be allowed access although they may be asked to wait a short time until it is safe to pass. On occasions access to individual properties will be restricted and we will contact those concerned individually. Access will always be maintained for emergency vehicles.
