Temporary pavement licences

On the 22 July 2020 the Government introduced a streamlined and cheaper route for businesses to gain a pavement licence.

This is a temporary measure to support businesses while social distancing measures remain in place.  Any licence issued will not be valid beyond 30 September 2023.

If your business is in an area where there is a public space protection order (PSPO) banning the consumption of alcohol in public you will not be able to utilise the temporary process to enable alcohol to be consumed outside and you will need to apply using Devon County Council’s process.

The temporary process is managed by District Councils.  Please contact them directly for further information.
