The seven-year contract began in April 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The partnership, called Devon Highways, is approximately 50% of our business.&nbsp;The rest is delivered by specialist companies and local contractors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Milestone Infrastructure Ltd delivers a wide range of highway services and brings additional social value to local communities.&nbsp;This includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/roads-and-transport\/document\/highway-safety-policy-vers-6-1\/\">safety inspections<\/a> to identify defects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/roads-and-transport\/document\/highway-safety-policy-vers-6-1\/\">repair defects<\/a> that have been identified by safety inspections or reported<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>cyclic maintenance including gully cleaning and grass-cutting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>drainage repairs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>patching \u2013 footways and carriageways<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/roads-and-transport\/safe-travel\/winter-travel\/\">winter service<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>out-of-hours emergency response<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Devon County Council has contracts in place for other types of work. These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>tree safety management<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/roads-and-transport\/maintaining-roads\/funding-and-priorities\/business-plan-2015-2021\/pothole-action-fund\/\">Pothole Action Fund<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What we do not do<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We do not have responsibility for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>motorways and trunk roads &#8211; these are maintained by <a href=\"https:\/\/highwaysengland.co.uk\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Highways England<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Torbay roads &#8211; these are maintained by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.torbay.gov.uk\/roads\/highway-maintenance\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Torbay Council<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plymouth roads &#8211; these are maintained by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plymouth.gov.uk\/roads-and-pavements\" rel=\"noopener\">Plymouth City Council<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The following is dealt with by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/communities\/how-do-i\/getting-my-voice-heard\/your-district-council\">local or district councils<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rubbish bins and recycling collection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Off-street parking such as car parks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Street nameplates.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dog waste bins.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Planning permission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you can\u2019t find what you\u2019re looking for please take a look at our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/roads-and-transport\/help-and-support\/\">help and support page<\/a> where we\u2019ve brought together the answers to our most commonly asked questions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Devon County Council\u2019s current highway Term Maintenance Contract (TMC) is with Milestone Infrastructure Ltd.
