Reporting emergencies<\/h2>\n

If you are reporting an emergency that requires immediate attention, please call us on 0345 155 1004<\/a>. An emergency on the highway is defined as something that is very likely to present an imminent threat to life or serious injury or serious damage to property.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Map navigation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Click and drag to pan around the map area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To zoom in you can either use the mouse wheel, hold down shift and click and drag a box or use the zoom-in button on the toolbar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To zoom out you can use the mouse wheel or use the zoom-out button on the toolbar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use the search facility in the toolbar to go to a place name, road, postcode or address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Go to your current location by clicking the current location button in the toolbar. The first time you use this function, your browser may display a security message, asking you whether you want to share your location. If you deny this request the feature won’t work. If you accept, your computer will try to determine your location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reporting a problem<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To report a problem you will need to zoom in on the map until you see the ‘Actions’ box when you click on the location of the problem you want to report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the problem is with a specific item such as a traffic light, Illuminated sign or a bridge, zoom in on the map until the relevant icons appear. Click on an icon and select the ‘Report a fault’ option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To report another problem of the same nature at a different location, click on the map at the appropriate location and report the next problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding yourself to an existing problem<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If when you are using the map you find that the problem you want to report has already been reported (or you see a different problem that you are interested in) then please use the option to add yourself to that report rather than adding a duplicate report.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
