From Monday 20 to Friday 24 July 2026 we will be carrying out two types of road works on the B3344 in Chudleigh. To minimise local disruption, these two works have been combined so that the road only needs to be closed once.
What we are doing
Overnight resurfacing from Monday 20 to Thursday 23 July (7pm to 6am)
B3344: from Weavers Road junction to the B3193 junction. We will be carrying out essential resurfacing works for 3 nights between 7pm to 6am, during which the road will be closed.
Works area
Please see the road closure and works area highlighted in red on the map below.

Access to residential properties, pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be maintained. There will be gatemen on site to assist with access queries, but some delays should be expected.
Surface Dressing on Friday 24 July (9:30am to 3:30pm)
We will be carrying out Surface Dressing on the B3344: from the Weaver Road junction to the Rock Road junction. The works are scheduled on Friday 24 July between 9:30am to 3:30pm. Please bear in mind the date may change depending on the weather, because Surface Dressing relies upon warm, dry weather.
Surface Dressing will be completed within one day, but a five day ‘weather window’ is displayed on signs to allow flexibility with planned dates in case of wet weather as the materials require dry road surfaces before they can be laid.

To ensure the safety of road users and our workforce, traffic management measures – including road closures and temporary parking restrictions – will be in place. There may be short periods of restricted access to properties and motorists are advised to allow extra time for travel.
