Casualty Summary

This summary provides an overview of the types of road casualties we see in the Devon County Council area. Click through the pages to reveal more information including a historical trend chart and also the Police Officers opinion of why collisions occur (contributory factor data).

High Harm Routes & Cluster Sites

We’ve worked with the Vision Zero Partnership to identify High Harm Routes. This covers the A and B road network. The scoring of each route segment is collision density based. It’s calculated by dividing the number of collisions by the route length, and also includes a severity weighting for fatal and serious injury collisions. More on the methodology of the route scoring and ranking here. Red routes are those in the worst performing quintile (top fifth) of all A and B road route segments across the whole of the Devon and Cornwall area.
