They can help to diagnose an illness, prescribe medication if suitable and refer you to the right <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dpt.nhs.uk\/our-services\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">local mental health service<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TALKWORKS (formerly Depression and Anxiety Service)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.talkworks.dpt.nhs.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Talkworks NHS service<\/a>\u00a0supports people aged 18 and over who need help coping with stress, anxiety and depression. They offer a range of different treatments and therapies. You can be referred through your GP or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.talkworks.dpt.nhs.uk\/self-refer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">register yourself online<\/a>\u00a0and someone will contact\u00a0you to arrange an appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Able Futures &#8211; access to work mental health support service<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you live with mental health difficulties, you know there are good days and bad days. You also know the bad days can affect you at work. You probably find it hard to focus or perform at your best. The aim of Able Futures is to help you enjoy more good days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The support service is fast, flexible and, best of all, free to use this service. They could give you nine months advice and guidance from a mental health specialist who can help you learn coping mechanisms, build resilience, access therapy or work with your employer to make adjustments to help your mental health at work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/able-futures.co.uk\/access-to-work-mental-health-support-service\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Able Futures<\/a>&nbsp;delivers the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/access-to-work\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Access to Work Mental Health Support Service<\/a>&nbsp;on behalf of the&nbsp;Department for Work and Pensions. It could be available to you if you can answer &#8220;yes&#8221; to the following questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Are you aged 16 or over?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are you in work, on an apprenticeship, about to start work or furloughed?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you live in Great Britain?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you have mental health difficulties that impact upon your work?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This list is not exhaustive and it is ultimately up to the Department of Work and Pensions&nbsp;Access to Work Mental Health Support Service adviser to determine eligibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Call&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/able-futures.co.uk\/access-to-work-mental-health-support-service\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Able Futures<\/a>&nbsp;free on&nbsp;<a href=\"tel:08003213137\">0800 321 3137<\/a> from 8 am to 10.30 pm, Monday to Friday to find out more about online mental health support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Seeking help for a mental health problem<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The charity Mind has a produced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mind.org.uk\/information-support\/guides-to-support-and-services\/seeking-help-for-a-mental-health-problem\/where-to-start\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a step-by-step guide to getting help<\/a>, including what may happen and what you can do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Looking after yourself and staying well<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The NHS and Mind have useful information to help you look after yourself and improve and maintain your mental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dpt.nhs.uk\/resources\/self-help-guides\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Looking after yourself &nbsp;<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/mental-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Information and support with mental health issues<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mind.org.uk\/information-support\/tips-for-everyday-living\/wellbeing\/staying-mentally-well\/#.VjiqvbfhBpi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mind \u2013 tips for everyday living<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you are worried about your mental health, it\u2019s important to get help and support as soon as possible.
