HEE funding for nursing associate workforce expansion

As the introduction of trainee Nursing Associates into health and care services continues to develop, Health Education England have made available additional funding to support its continued expansion. This presents an exciting opportunity for health and care providers in Devon to further consider the role of the Nursing Associate within their workforce (please see HEE FAQs – Nursing Associates Jan 2018). This HEE funding relates to the Nursing Associate Apprenticeship programme (please see HEE Nursing Associate briefing pack for employers).


Nursing Associate Apprenticeship

2 year level 5 qualification (FdSc Nursing Associate)

Attendance is 1 day per week at Plymouth University, starting January 2019

Cost and Funding:

Course fee is £15,000 – non-levy payers will pay 10% (£1,500)

HEE funding: £4000 one off payment and £1,600 per year (£7,200)
