The recently announced extension to the 2017/18 flu vaccination programme is now live and full details on how staff can access the vaccine are available in the attached letter. Early action is needed to increase uptake across the system and your support is important. We are already seeing outbreaks of diarrhoea and vomiting and want to be in a strong position for the winter months ahead.
Social care workers employed by a registered care provider that offer direct patient/client care, are now eligible for free vaccination as part of the extension to the seasonal flu immunisation programme in 2017/18. The extension to this programme is designed to complement, not replace, existing schemes already in place across health and social care and some of your staff may already be eligible as one of the defined risk groups.
