SUMMARY:Provider workforce development - Strengths based approaches
DESCRIPTION:Devon County Council is committed to supporting its internal an
 d external workforce in developing skills and competencies in strengths-ba
 sed approaches. We have an exciting opportunity coming up for care workers
  to take part in a Strengths Based approach training pilot.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\
 nTandra Forster\, Director of Integrated Adult Social Care\, Devon County 
 Council said:\n“It’s important that we progress our strengths-based wo
 rkforce development strategy with both parts of our workforce: internal an
 d external. Providers are key partners in building our collaborative appro
 ach to strengths-based working”.\n\n\n\n\nThe training will include a su
 ite of e-learning available via our learning portal\, plus a series of int
 eractive live workshops via webinar in October and November. This opportun
 ity is a pilot at this stage so only available to a limited number of care
  workers - 2 per provider organisation.\nKey themes will include:\n\n\n 	U
 nderstanding Devon’s approach to the Care Act\n 	Goal setting and outcom
 es-focused working\n 	TECs and other digital resources to support and enha
 nce care delivery.\n 	Person centred planning tools e.g. 247 grid\, PATH p
 lanning\n 	Constant Supervision\; a Human Rights perspective\n\nCare worke
 rs attending the course must be able to commit to the total learning / tra
 ining hours in October and November and have their manager’s approval. T
 his will involve 4-5 hours interactive webinars plus self-directed e-learn
 ing which can be done at your own pace. Spaces will be available on a firs
 t come first serve basis (up to 2 staff in any one provider organisation).
  We would encourage both managers and frontline workers to apply. Communit
 y Services providers (personal care\, day\, enabling\, personal assistants
 \, supported living and micro-providers) will be prioritised at this stage
 . There will also be a requirement for a pre and post evaluation and a one
  month follow up.\nYou only need to book onto one workshop for each theme.
