Privacy Notice for Care Home Support Survey

Devon County Council (DCC) is collecting and or processing your personal data as a Data Controller under Data Protection Legislation and our ICO registration number is Z6475582. This privacy notice concerns the processing of personal data that takes place by the Integrated Adult Care and Health Service as part of the Care Home Support Survey.

What information are we processing?

We may collect, store or otherwise process information about you which may include:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • The name of your care home or setting
  • The address that you provided to us when we last supported you during the Coronavirus pandemic
  • Information you provide us about the support you received from Devon County Council, including any ideas for how this service offer could be improved in the future.

Purpose of collecting or processing your personal data

DCC may need to collect or otherwise process your personal data personal data so that we can;

  • Understand how the support you received worked for you.
  • Make decisions about how we might improve the services we provide to care homes in the future.
  • Inform our planning for service delivery moving forward

The legal basis for us collecting your personal data

Devon County Council has a statutory duty under the Care Act 2014 to promote welfare and prevent the need for care and support. This survey is being conducted to help inform our service offer within Adult Care and Health. For this reason, we consider that the processing of your personal data as part of this survey is lawful on the grounds that the processing is necessary for the performance of a public task, carried out in the public interest.

Please note that personal data that is collected for any of the purposes outlined in this notice is never used for direct marketing purposes and is not sold on to any other third parties.

Recipients or categories of recipients that we may share your personal data with

When processing your personal data, it may be necessary for us to share personal data with services within the Integrated Adult Care and Health service, so that they can follow up any ideas, or concerns that you may have raised. If this is necessary, we will only share the minimum amount of personal data that is needed for this purpose.

International transfers

Devon County Council does not intend to transfer your personal data to countries outside of the scope of UK data protection laws.

How long will we hold your personal data?

Devon County Council will retain your personal data for six years from the date of this survey. After this time period, data that identifies you will be securely disposed of.

Under Data Protection Legislation, you have the right to obtain a copy of their personal records held by us, this is called a Subject Access Request (SAR).
