Landkey play area set for some exciting new improvements

Posted on: 7 May 2019

Work to install brand new play equipment at Blakeshill Road play area in Landkey begins on Monday 13 May.

A new basket swing, inclusive roundabout, see-saw and some interactive play units will be installed, while the paths and safety surfacing will also be improved.

This project has been funded by over £22,000 from the Birch Road/Denes Road development contributions.

Mark Kentell, Contracts Delivery Manager at North Devon Council, says: “The section 106 funding, which has come from new housing developments in Landkey, allows the council to give something back to the community and will provide an improvement to the existing play area for children to use and enjoy for years to come.”

The play area will be closed to the public whist these works are taking place and it is expected that work will be finished by the end of May, weather permitting.
