North Devon Council has launched a new email subscription service that sends news and information about council services to subscribers.

Visitors to the council’s website will now notice an option to subscribe to receive information and updates from the services that matter to them; such as the latest planning applications, waste and recycling news, job vacancies and much more.

Ken Miles, Head of Corporate and Community Services at North Devon Council, says “Using the GovDelivery communications platform, we hope to encourage residents and businesses to actively engage with council services and bring the local authority and its residents closer together.  Anyone can sign up to receive emails about the topics they are most interested in and can change or update their preferences at any time. The system is fully GDPR compliant so anyone who signs up has no need to worry about their data being misused.”

Customers can subscribe to a choice of topics by visiting northdevon.gov.uk and entering their email address into the pop-up which appears on the homepage.  Additional subscription topics will be added in due course.

GovDelivery currently successfully works with over 300 public sector organisations in the UK and Europe, with over 13 millon subscribers.  Every day thousands of people in the UK sign up to receive updates from local and central government, healthcare and emergency services and other public sector organisations.
