Easter waste and recycling collections

The Easter holidays are approaching and North Devon Council are reminding residents to check when to put their waste and recycling out for collection.

There will be no waste or recycling collections on Good Friday (19 April). Collections due that day will be made on Saturday 20 April instead.

All waste and recycling collections in the week commencing Monday 22 April will take place one day later that week (running from Tuesday to Saturday).

Lots of homes will have more cardboard and foil than usual, thanks to a visit from the Easter bunny. Residents are being asked to dispose of this additional waste in a responsible way by recycling the packaging; flatten cardboard Easter egg boxes and put them in your brown bags, and scrunch up foil before putting it in your recycling box. Any plastic boxes (except black plastic) can also be recycled.

North Devon Council’s Head of Operations, Ricky McCormack says: “Waste and recycling collections are always a day late following a bank holiday, but if you’re in any doubt about your collection dates you can check our website any time.

“Please make sure you leave your bins and recycling containers at the kerbside before 7am on the day of your collection to avoid them being missed by our crews. Following a bank holiday, when your collection day changes, your waste may well be collected earlier in the day than you are used to.”

You can check when your collections are due on our website www.northdevon.gov.uk/collections.

Your collection calendar doesn’t show what day the recycling box is collected in Berrynarbor.

  2. David Lewis says:

Update ‘week commencing’ on collection dates. Currently shown as week commencing 18th February – it should be 15th April!

Thank you for your comments. The reason it says 18 February is because some of our rounds changed on that date, so as of that date some people have a new collection day.
