Due to the severe weather conditions, waste and recycling collections in North Devon are likely to be disrupted this week.

With widespread snow and ice across North Devon and more predicted on Thursday and Friday, North Devon Council is warning residents that collections might be affected.

Today (Wednesday 28 February), the council’s waste and recycling crews are out across the district attempting to make their scheduled collections. However, some areas are proving too difficult to access, particularly in the Ilfracombe and Combe Martin areas. Every effort will be made to complete collections where it is safe to do so. Any collections missed due to the severe weather will be made on the next scheduled collection day.

Executive Member for Environment, Councillor Rodney Cann, says: “Some areas are very icy today, making collections in some places impossible. We are expecting more snow and ice over the next couple of days and this will definitely impact our collections. If your collection is missed this week, please bring your bin back in and put it out on your next scheduled collection day.”

You can check your next scheduled collection date on the council’s website www.northdevon.gov.uk/collections.
