Waste and recycling collections over the festive period

Posted on: 18 December 2017

With the Christmas holidays fast approaching, North Devon residents are being reminded to check when to put their waste and recycling out for collection.

Black bin collections will be made as normal on Christmas week, except those due on Christmas Day (Monday 25 December) and Boxing Day (Tuesday 26 December). Black bins will not be emptied on these days, and collections will instead be made two days late (on Wednesday 27 December and Thursday 28 December).

Residents whose recycling collections are due on Christmas Day or Boxing Day will not receive a recycling collection that week. Recycling collections for the rest of Christmas week (Wednesday 27 December to Friday 29 December) will be made as normal.

Recycling and black bin collections due in the first week of January will take place one day later than usual; between Tuesday 2 January and Saturday 6 January. There will be no garden waste collections during the two weeks covering Christmas and New Year. Normal waste and recycling collections will start again on 8 January.

Collection timetables for homes across North Devon are available online to download (northdevon.gov.uk/collections). Residents can enter their postcode to view collection dates and print off a waste and recycling collection timetable, specifically for their property.

If residents don’t have access to the internet but still require a copy of their collection timetable, they can contact Customer Services on 01271 327711 or email customerservices@northdevon.gov.uk (please note Customer Services closes at 2pm on Friday 22 December and reopens on Tuesday 2 January).

    Priory Rd., Pilton.
Black bin collection should have been made today 28122017 according to your Collections page. Not done.
It may well be done tomorrow perhaps. If not what are your plans. If left until next normal collection date there will be a month”s worth of waste to collect.
    Thank you.
