{"id":71816,"date":"2026-10-19T14:29:45","date_gmt":"2026-10-19T13:29:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/news\/?p=71816"},"modified":"2026-10-19T14:29:47","modified_gmt":"2026-10-19T13:29:47","slug":"bridges-holne-undergo-repairs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/news\/bridges-holne-undergo-repairs\/","title":{"rendered":"Bridges at Holne to undergo repairs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Essential repairs will be carried out on the old Holne Bridge and Newbridge at Holne near Ashburton, starting this weekend (Saturday 24 October).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both bridges have been struck by vehicles in a number of separate incidents over recent weeks. The parapet of the old Holne Bridge has been displaced and the parapet and coping stones on Newbridge have sustained damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To enable repairs to be undertaken, closures will be in place on both structures from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Grade II Listed Holne Bridge will be completely closed 24 hours a day throughout the scheme, with no access permitted. However, Newbridge will undergo daytime closures from 8am to 5pm each day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These closures have been planned to keep disruption to a minimum and to allow work to be completed as soon as possible. Work is weather
