On Tuesday 5 May Devon County Council proudly raised the LGBT+ Pride flag above County Hall, marking a moment of unity and support for the LGBT+ community.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representatives from the authority\u00a0also\u00a0took\u00a0part in the Exeter Pride\u00a0march on Saturday 9 May\u00a0to support\u00a0our LGBT+ communities,\u00a0celebrating\u00a0diversity across Devon, and proudly\u00a0representing\u00a0the\u00a0commitment to creating a fair and inclusive workplace for all.\u00a0In attendance was Councillor Richard Keeling, Cabinet Member for Adult Services.<\/p>\n\n\n

Councillor Richard Keeling, Cabinet Member for Adult Services, said:<\/p><\/div>\r\n \t\t

\u201cEquality, Diversity, and Inclusion are central values of adult social care, and the Council.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn delivering adult social care\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0so important that we know who people are, we know\u00a0what\u2019s\u00a0important to them, and the things that make them happy\u202f\u2013 that will be different for everyone.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m\u00a0proud of the diversity in Devon, and how the whole of the adult social care workforce adds to and strengthens that.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0important that we take time to recognise and celebrate days like this, to actively\u00a0demonstrate\u00a0that we are allies of everyone regardless of the community they live in or the community they identify with.<\/p>\n

\u201cHopefully flying the Pride flag sends a message loudly and clearly that this Council belongs to everyone in Devon.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n\t<\/blockquote>\r\n
