County Council support at The Promise school"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Devon County Council is working closely with Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust following a fire at the Promise school over the weekend.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No pupils or staff were on site at the time of the incident, and no one was injured.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the Trust is leading the response to the fire, the Council is providing support to help manage the immediate impact and plan next steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This includes working with school leaders to ensure children continue to receive education.<\/p>\n\n\n<div id=\"block_acf-block-699de35ee0521\" class=\"councillor-quote align-right other has-black-color has-white-background-color grid-x\">\r\n\t<blockquote class=\"councillor-quote-blockquote medium-auto small-12 cell\">\r\n                    <div class=\"councillor-quote-title\"><p>Councillor Denise Bickley, the council\u2019s Cabinet Member with responsibility for services that support children with special educational needs and disabilities, said:<\/p><\/div>\r\n        \t\t<div class=\"councillor-quote-text\"><p>\u201cThis has been a deeply upsetting incident for children, families and the whole school community, and our thoughts are with everyone affected.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe recognise how unsettling it must feel to face this level of disruption so suddenly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Trust is leading the response, and we are working side\u2011by\u2011side with them to support the next steps and help ensure children can continue their education safely.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n\t<\/blockquote>\r\n        <div class=\"councillor-quote-aside medium-auto small-12 cell\">\r\n\t<figure class=\"councillor-quote-image grid-x\">\r\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"small-6 cell medium-12\" soon as details are confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe safety and wellbeing of pupils, families and staff is the council\u2019s priority,\u201d Councillor Bickley added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe will continue to work closely with the school and its community over the coming
