{"id":65232,"date":"2025-01-29T12:59:22","date_gmt":"2025-01-29T12:59:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/news\/?p=65232"},"modified":"2025-01-29T12:59:25","modified_gmt":"2025-01-29T12:59:25","slug":"final-resurfacing-work-planned-on-rifford-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/news\/final-resurfacing-work-planned-on-rifford-road\/","title":{"rendered":"Final resurfacing work planned on Rifford Road"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The final two phases of resurfacing work on Rifford Road in Exeter are scheduled to be carried out over the next couple of months.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A large section of the road, between the junctions with Quarry Lane and Lethbridge Road, was resurfaced last month as part of the development of the cycle route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The remaining areas of Rifford Road to be closed for resurfacing will be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Monday 10 February \u2013 Friday 21 February: Lethbridge Road to 121 Rifford Road;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Monday 17 March \u2013 Friday 28 March: 121 Rifford Road to Ludwell Lane Roundabout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During these next phases of work, Rifford Road will remain open between Quarry Lane and Lethbridge Road and between Burnthouse Lane and 121 Rifford Road for access and parking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A diversion route will be signed via East Wonford Hill, Butts Road, Bovemoors Lane, Dryden Road, Wonford Street and Burnthouse Lane. Emergency access will be maintained, as well as pedestrian access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New road markings will also be applied, and high-friction safety surfacing will be added at the Lethbridge Road junction.<\/p>\n\n\n<div id=\"block_acf-block-679a262aaab09\" class=\"councillor-quote align-right dcc grid-x\">\r\n\t<blockquote class=\"councillor-quote-blockquote medium-auto small-12 cell\">\r\n                    <div class=\"councillor-quote-title\"><p>Councillor Stuart Hughes, Cabinet Member for Highway Management, said: <\/p><\/div>\r\n        \t\t<div class=\"councillor-quote-text\"><p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The first section of resurfacing has been a vast improvement so hopefully people can see the long term benefit, despite the short term disruption while work is carried out.
