{"id":58808,"date":"2022-12-16T12:07:49","date_gmt":"2022-12-16T12:07:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/news\/?p=58808"},"modified":"2022-12-16T12:07:50","modified_gmt":"2022-12-16T12:07:50","slug":"council-thanks-school-teachers-and-staff-for-their-continued-hard-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/news\/council-thanks-school-teachers-and-staff-for-their-continued-hard-work\/","title":{"rendered":"Council thanks school teachers and staff for their continued hard work"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Our lead Councillor responsible for schools has wished all Devon teachers and teaching assistants season&#8217;s greetings, thanking them for their continued hard work and effort throughout 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<div id=\"block_b59221c7d1b483d11619621c2db89eb4\" class=\"councillor-quote align-right dcc grid-x\">\r\n\t<blockquote class=\"councillor-quote-blockquote medium-auto small-12 cell\">\r\n                    <div class=\"councillor-quote-title\"><p>Councillor Andrew Leadbetter, Cabinet Member for education and learning, said:<\/p><\/div>\r\n        \t\t<div class=\"councillor-quote-text\"><p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As we reach the end of the term I would like to thank everyone one of our amazing teachers, teaching assistants and staff for their hard work and dedication.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This year has been another difficult one, post-coronavirus to a large extent and yet the virus is still ever-present.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re now also seeing some of the common and less common winter illnesses impacting on pupils and staff alike.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I know how hard all of our schools are working to keep pupils in the classroom and learning, despite staff being absent due to illness.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So, thank you. I very much look forward to the new year and working alongside and in support of our schools to meet new challenges of 2023.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph
