Visitors to Dartmoor will find new road safety improvements have been installed on a busy stretch of road near a beauty spot in the National Park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A \u2018no waiting at any time\u2019 order has come into force on roads around Two Bridges. For many years there have been concerns some motorists parking in the area contribute to safety concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parking there also reduces visibility and ‘narrows’ the road, which can make it difficult for vehicles to pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Devon County Council (DCC) made the order which was supported by both DNPA and Dartmoor Forest Parish Council. It came into force on April 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The order stops people parking on a section of the B3212 Postbridge\/Moretonhampstead road; the B3357 past Two Bridges Hotel until just after the Princetown\/Plymouth junction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Long-term safety concerns prompted DNPA, working with DCC, to install no waiting\/no parking cones along the stretch to help manage parking issues.<\/p>\n\n\n

Andrew Watson Dartmoor National Park Authority\u2019s Head of Recreation, Access and Estates said: <\/p><\/div>\r\n \t\t

\u201cWe welcome the no waiting order. We believe it will go a long way towards improving road safety for all road users and alleviating problems such as obstructive parking.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n\t<\/blockquote>\r\n \r\n <\/div>\n\n

Cllr Stuart Hughes, Devon County Council\u2019s Cabinet Member for Highways Management said:<\/p><\/div>\r\n \t\t

\u201cI am pleased that this Traffic Regulation Order is in effect. Inconsiderate parking can not only harm the visitor experience for many, but it can also be dangerous. I\u2019m confident these measures will help make people feel safer.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n\t<\/blockquote>\r\n

The Chair of Dartmoor Forest Parish Council Chair, Cllr Alison Geen, said:<\/p><\/div>\r\n \t\t

\u201cDartmoor Forest Parish Council is very grateful that the DNPA have followed up on our request for this parking restriction to be introduced.\u00a0\u00a0 We hope this will make driving past the
