Overall take up of booster vaccination so far is good in Devon, but we can do better.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take-up of the boosters among people aged 50 plus, is very good.  More than 80 per cent of people who are eligible for the booster vaccination, among people over 50, have had it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But younger than that, and the younger we go, the take-up of the booster vaccination gets lower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For some, there’s maybe good reason \u2013 a recent infection or not enough time (12 weeks) has yet passed since their second jab, to enable them to have their booster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But there’s a middle group, between 25 to 50 years, who by now should have had sufficient time to be ready for their booster, but haven\u2019t yet come forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s who we are appealing to now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The booster, experts tell us, makes a big difference to our immune system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s not a ‘nice to have’, after the first and second jabs.  It\u2019s as important, if not more so for the additional protection is gives us against getting seriously ill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So please come forward, if you’re eligible for the booster and haven’t yet had it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are plenty of opportunities to grab it now, with or without an appointment, at walk-in sites and vaccination centres across Devon<\/a>.\u00a0 And for those young enough, or old enough to remember the classic arcade games first time round, here’s a video to make you smile<\/a>, and encourage you to get your booster at soon as
