{"id":53962,"date":"2021-11-05T12:00:41","date_gmt":"2021-11-05T12:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/news\/?p=53962"},"modified":"2021-11-05T12:04:56","modified_gmt":"2021-11-05T12:04:56","slug":"be-safe-this-bonfire-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/news\/be-safe-this-bonfire-night\/","title":{"rendered":"Be safe this bonfire night"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Last weekend it was Halloween, this time it&#8217;s Bonfire Night, and again many may be out in the hope of a dry, clear evening.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue have <a href=\"https:\/\/beta.dsfire.gov.uk\/news\/safe-fireworks-night\" rel=\"noopener\">published a helpful guide to a safer bonfire night<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But also, remember the coronavirus context, especially now with infection levels so high in the school-age age groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Top tips to help you enjoy the weekend safely<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>So whether you&#8217;re off to friends to wave a sparkler, or to an organised bonfire event, here are some tips to help you enjoy it safely:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>If you or any children have any signs of illness whatsoever, cough, cold, sore throat, please don&#8217;t go. If you&#8217;ve made plans for people to come to you, please rearrange it for another time<\/li><li>If you&#8217;re meeting others in the garden, try to keep the number of people low<\/li><li>Even if you&#8217;re heading out to a large organised display, remember to take hand hygiene and face coverings in case you need to nip inside to where there may be lots of people<\/li><li>If you&#8217;re hosting a small gathering, it&#8217;s fine to ask them to take a lateral flow test first<\/li><li>Try to keep it outside, but if you have to move indoors, make sure it&#8217;s well
