Members of the Devon Bus Enhanced Partnership with their Silver award in the Partnership for Excellence category at the UK Bus Awards 2025

The Devon Bus Enhanced Partnership has been awarded Silver at the UK Bus Awards 2025, placing it among the top-performing bus partnerships in the country.

The partnership was recognised in the Partnership for Excellence: The Peter Huntley Memorial Award category, which this year attracted an exceptionally strong field of entries from across the UK.

The awards ceremony took place in London, where industry leaders, operators and local authorities gathered to celebrate excellence in delivering better, more sustainable bus services nationwide.

Representatives from Devon were present at the event, including Stagecoach South West, our Cabinet Member for Climate Change and Biodiversity Councillor Jacqi Hodgson, and staff from our transport team.

The award reflects the impact of the partnership’s ongoing transformation of the county’s bus network, supported by the investment of our Bus Service Improvement Plan funding from the Department for Transport. This funding is helping to improve services, enhance passenger experience and accelerate the transition towards greener, more sustainable travel across Devon.

Councillor Jacqi Hodgson, Cabinet Member for Climate Change and Biodiversity, added:

“It’s fantastic to see Devon recognised among the top partnerships in the UK. This award reflects the dedication of all our partners and the positive changes now being felt by passengers across the county.”

Peter Knight, Managing Director of Stagecoach South West, said: “Achieving Silver at a national level is a tremendous result for everyone involved. It shows the strength of our collaboration and the real progress we’re making for communities across Devon.”

Don McIntosh, Managing Director of Tally Ho! Coaches, representing smaller operators within the partnership, said: “Smaller operators play an essential role in Devon’s transport network, and this award shows how powerful true partnership working can be. Being recognised among the best in the country demonstrates that when all operators, large and small, are given a voice, we can deliver real and lasting improvements for the communities we serve.”

The Silver award marks an important milestone for the Devon Bus Enhanced Partnership, demonstrating how collaboration at every level, between local authorities, major operators and smaller community-based companies, can deliver meaningful benefits for passengers and help shape a more sustainable future for public transport.
