Are you a trade that works in care homes?

Posted on:

If you provide a trade, or you deliver any sort of service to care homes, or to their residents, you need to be double-vaccinated by Thursday 11 November to be allowed entry.

New regulations came into force earlier this month, making it a requirement that professionals – plumbers, electricians, hairdressers, chiropodists, painters and decorators, for example – have to be double-vaccinated to be allowed entry to care homes.

The regulations also apply to people who work or volunteer in care homes.

And to make that deadline, anyone who wants to enter care homes who haven’t already been double vaccinated, will need to have had their first dose at the latest by the 16 September.

There are exemptions to the regulations. Care home residents, visitors, children, emergency workers and people considered to be nearing the end of their life are exempt from the new regulations.

Vaccinations can be booked online through the national booking service or by ringing 119.

It’s also possible to visit a walk-in centre without the need to book in advance. Find your nearest centre.
