The consultation period was extended from 4 to 6 weeks following agreement with Peter Heaton-Jones MP\u00a0after seeing high levels of responses.<\/p>\n<p>A number of face to face business\u00a0surveys were also\u00a0undertaken with some of the\u00a0largest employers in northern Devon, with smaller businesses invited to complete the survey online.<\/p>\n<p>Both the\u00a0business surveys and public\u00a0consultation have now closed. Devon County Council is analysing and summarising responses, a\u00a0full discussion of\u00a0which will be presented to the Department for Transport\u00a0in Autumn 2016 when the preferred option for the scheme will also be outlined.<\/p>\n<p>A summary of the\u00a0results of the consultation, and the preferred option for the scheme can be found in the <a href=\"http:\/\/democracy.devon.gov.uk\/documents\/s4743\/PTE1646.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">October 2016 Cabinet Report<\/a>.
