SIA stands for &#8220;Security Industry Authority&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Find out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/find-out-if-you-need-an-sia-licence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here if you need an SIA licence for your job.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You DO NOT usually need an SIA licence for the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>volunteering (i.e. not receiving pay)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>checking invitations for an event or that people have paid<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>showing people to seats at a venue, toilets or first-aid facilities etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>working at an airport if you are responsible for screening or access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>working at a sports ground with an active safety certificate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>working for a company that employs you directly e.g. security at a supermarket (<em>however, you will still need a licence if the company sells alcohol, organises gambling or holds boxing matches).<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You DO usually need an SIA licence for the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>transport valuable property in a security vehicle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>bodyguard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>guard a door at casinos, nightclubs, pubs, boxing arenas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CCTV surveillance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>security guard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>guarding important keys<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More industry specific support:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns
