Mary Davis is the County Treasurer – Head of Devon Finance Services.
Role and responsibilities
Mary is the Section 151 officer, responsible for all financial matters within the County Council and the Devon Pension Fund. She looks after gross revenue budgets of just under £1.2 billion, a five-year capital programme of nearly £500 million and a Pension Fund valued at about £2.8 billion.
Mary did her accountancy training in the Health Service and had spells working for a London borough and two large district councils.
She joined Devon County Council in 1990 and has undertaken the lead finance role in the then Environment and Social Services Directorates before moving into Corporate Finance.
Mary also manages the Devon Audit Partnership, a shared service with Plymouth and Torbay.
