<\/a>There are first millennium AD Christian British memorial stones in north, south and west Devon and also some Saxon cross shafts across the county. Archaeological evidence from Exeter\u2019s Cathedral Close suggests that Christian practice continued from the late Roman into the Saxon period.<\/p>\n
