These include the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cornish-mining.org.uk\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.historicengland.org.uk\/listing\/what-is-designation\/scheduled-monuments\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Scheduled Monuments<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.historicengland.org.uk\/listing\/what-is-designation\/registered-parks-and-gardens\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Registered Historic Parks and Gardens<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.historicengland.org.uk\/listing\/what-is-designation\/listed-buildings\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Listed Buildings <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.historicengland.org.uk\/listing\/what-is-designation\/local\/conservation-areas\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Conservation Areas <\/a>as well as two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalparks.uk\/\" rel=\"noopener\">National Parks <\/a>and five <a href=\"http:\/\/www.landscapesforlife.org.uk\/\" rel=\"noopener\">AONB<\/a>s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An outline of aspects of Devon\u2019s historic environment is provided here.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The \u2018historic environment\u2019 includes all the physical evidence that our ancestors have left in the landscapes of town and countryside.&nbsp; It covers the whole spectrum of human creations from the largest &#8211; towns, cathedrals or highways &#8211; to the very smallest &#8211; signposts, standing stones or buried flint tools.
