Dimensions for Autism (DFA):<\/strong><\/h6>\n

An update was given on the communities involvement and the events they have been to recently, which includes events such as Exeter Pride and Respect festival.<\/p>\n

Progress on the Health and Hospitals Passport for adults with reasonable adjustments can share with health professionals to help with communicating their individual needs. Once finished, this document will be shared with AIG members.<\/p>\n

New Dawlish Mental Health Unit Update<\/strong><\/h6>\n

Devon Partnership Trust (DPT) welcomed AIG members to come visit the unit once it has been completed and DPT have ownership of the building. Once the unit has been named, this information will be shared with AIG members at the next meeting.<\/p>\n

A presentation was shared with AIG members giving visual updates with pictures on the progress of the building and how the unit is forming together. DPT were able to show the plans on how the patients rooms will look like and the layout of their living spaces.<\/p>\n

Devon County Council\u2019s Autism & ADHD Team<\/strong><\/h6>\n

A new team manager introduced themselves to AIG members and gave an overview on the work their team do; which includes managing complaints, mental <\/span>capacity<\/span> assessments, reviewing assessments and safeguarding.<\/span><\/p>\n

A report was shared with AIG members that spoke about the current caseload and more information on the referral process which includes contact information.<\/p>\n

Wider Strategic Update \u2013 Devon County Council Commissioning and Integrated Care Board<\/strong><\/h6>\n

AIG members<\/span> expressed concern<\/span> that<\/span> DCC\u2019s <\/span>3 <\/span>generic <\/span>adult social care <\/span>strategies<\/span> do not <\/span>contain<\/span> reference<\/span>s<\/span> to autism. DCC officers agreed to meet with DCC and managers in relevant local partnership agencies, to be clear about what plans and strategies could meaningfully be pres<\/span>ented to AIG<\/span> in future<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Devon Partnership Trust\u2019s Devon Adult Autism and ADHD (<\/strong>DAANA) Team<\/strong><\/h6>\n

DAANA gave the group an update on the services they are currently providing, this including the process of getting a diagnosis and interventions for support.<\/p>\n

They also gave some time for AIG members to ask any questions they may have around areas such as referral process, waiting times and post diagnostic support.<\/p>\n

Any Other Business<\/strong><\/h6>\n

An AIG member suggested potential future agenda items for presenters from local organisations to attend and discuss what services they can provide which may benefit AIG members.<\/p>\n

It was highlighted recent incidents of local organisations that have been cyber attacked which has resulted in fake emails sending dangerous links that seem very convincing to be real; this was to warn AIG members to be mindful and check that the emails they are receiving are authentic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
