Summary of meeting

Carers update:
• Issues with getting respite which is taking a toll on carers
• Finding enablers is proving difficult; especially with those who have had training on supporting people with complex needs
• Assessments are not happening

NHS Devon:
• Been encouraging people with learning disabilities between the ages of 14-18 years to have an annual health check with their GP
• Every GP surgery in Devon now has a Learning Disability Champion
• LeDeR reviews will now look into the unexpected deaths of autistic people

Devon Partnership Trust:
• Asked for support from people with learning disabilities and carers to help them review care plans to ensure they are more person centred

Devon People First:
• Ran online Friendship Groups during the lockdowns to support people to maintain friendships and create new ones
• Ran Big Community Catch Up Groups and supported people to take part in a survey for the Ministry of Justice looking at anti-social experience

Devon Link-Up:
• Have been working with DPT on a reasonable adjustment project
• Have been supporting people on their farm to grow and eat healthy foods
• Have been talking to people about the benefits of a healthy diet, portion sizes, taking exercise and being able to poo without problem

DCC:
• Talked through using person-centred plans to help people plan and achieve their dreams and goals.
