Sutcombe Primary School

Devon County Council’s People’s Scrutiny Committee on 21 March 2016 reviewed the decision made by Cabinet to close Sutcombe Primary School.  Scrutiny Committee upheld Cabinet’s decision and therefore, regrettably, Sutcombe Primary School will close with effect from 31 August 2016.

In accordance with the Council’s Scrutiny Procedure Rules, the Cabinet’s decision on 9 March 2016 relating to the closure of Sutcombe Primary School (Minute 484 refers) will be reviewed by the People’s Scrutiny Committee on 21 March 2016.  If the Scrutiny Committee ask for that decision to be reconsidered or amended in any way, then the Cabinet will have to reconsider the matter on 13 April 2016. Should there be no such request then the Cabinet’s decision will be implemented with immediate effect.

Following the brief notice representation period, a further question was received from a member of the public regarding Sutcombe Primary School, which will be considered by Cabinet, along with all other representations on 9 March 2016.
