Summary of meeting
The CIG discussions included:
Presentation – Understanding population needs in the light of Covid-19
The presentation which included:
• Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in 2019/2020
• Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED)
• What our report told us
• The impact of Covid-19 on EDI work
• Phase 3 Recovery work
CIG members were given chance to ask questions at the end of the presentation.
Presentation – Modernising Health Care Services
The presentation included:
- 4 main reasons for change
- A new health and wellbeing centre
- Benefits of a health and wellbeing centre
- A proposal for public consultation
Element a) Move high-use community clinics from Teignmouth Community Hospital to a health and wellbeing centre in Teignmouth
Element b) Move specialist outpatient clinics from Teignmouth Community Hospital to Dawlish Community Hospital, four miles away
Element c) Move day case procedures from Teignmouth Community Hospital to Dawlish Community Hospital Element d) Continue with the model of community-based intermediate care, reversing the decision to establish 12 rehabilitation beds in Teignmouth Community Hospital
Our consultation – get involved!
The presenter was asked if the project and research was done in a Co – Productive way.
Not as many people as expected had turned up for the public meetings, but there has been a bigger online response and surveys returned. They hope that people have had a chance to have a say, the consultation is still being advertised and people are being helped to get online to access the information.
CIG members were given chance to ask questions at the end of the presentation.
Discussion about how CIG should be run in the future.
• More meetings if we are going to have more speakers.
• More time for discussion.
• Information about presentations sent to CIG members before each meeting.
• Need to keep track of projects and to move on in a formal way.
• An overall presentation about integration of services at a future CIG.
