These provide areas for recreation and education, habitats for wildlife and also provide environmental services such as flood defence or absorption of air pollution. If these areas did not exist, then our lives would be very different.<\/p>\n<p>For this reason, these natural and semi-natural areas are identified as part of the basic \u2018infrastructure\u2019 that enables us to live as we do. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/greeninfrastructure\/?p=59\">More information<\/a> about green infrastructure and why it is important.<\/p>\n<h2>Our Strategy<\/h2>\n<p>We have prepared a <a title=\"Strategy\" href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/greeninfrastructure\/strategy\/\">Green Infrastructure Strategy<\/a>. This shows green infrastructure opportunities and deficiencies on a Devon-wide scale.
