Located on the south-eastern side of Tiverton, the Canal Basin is well signposted from all major routes into the town.<\/div>\n<div>\n<hr \/>\n<h4>For access to the central section of the Canal<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>From Tiverton<\/strong> &#8211; take the road towards Halberton, passing Blundells School;<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the M5<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0 Turn off the M5 at Junction 27 and follow the A361 North Devon Link Road, taking the first exit to Sampford Peverell.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4>To access the northern end of the Canal<\/h4>\n<p><strong>From the M5<\/strong> &#8211; Turn off the M5 at Junction 27 and follow the A38 to Wellington and follow signs to Burlescombe.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/li><\/p>\n<li class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item>\r\n<a href=\"#mac2\" id=\"head2\" role=\"tab\" class=\"accordion-title\" aria-controls=\"mac2\">On foot <\/a><div id=\"mac2\" aria-labelledby=\"head2\" class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><div class=\"targetclass\" >\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1wba39h\" data-start=\"1374\" data-end=\"1402\">\ud83d\udeb6\u200d\u2642\ufe0fOn foot<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3173 alignright\" title=\"Fingerpost sign\" src=\"http:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/grandwesterncanal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/107\/2023\/11\/Finger-posts-e1700495153240.jpg\" alt=\"Fingerpost sign\" width=\"144\" height=\"159\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1416\" data-end=\"1571\">You can walk to the canal by following fingerpost directional signs around Tiverton.\u00a0These are colour coordinated\u2014follow the <strong data-start=\"1541\" data-end=\"1556\">green signs<\/strong> for the canal.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2025\" data-end=\"2195\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1xykte6\" data-start=\"2025\" data-end=\"2096\">The Canal Basin is approximately a\u00a0<strong data-start=\"2062\" data-end=\"2080\">half-mile walk<\/strong>\u00a0up Canal Hill<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1rk2zbf\" data-start=\"2097\" data-end=\"2195\">The Tourist Information Centre (located in the museum near the station) can provide directions or alternatively follow the fingerposts signs towards the Canal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n<li class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item>\r\n<a href=\"#mac3\" id=\"head3\" role=\"tab\" class=\"accordion-title\" aria-controls=\"mac3\">By bike <\/a><div id=\"mac3\" aria-labelledby=\"head3\" class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><div class=\"targetclass\" >\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1wba39h\" data-start=\"1374\" data-end=\"1402\">\ud83d\udeb4By bike<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1585\" data-end=\"1707\">Cycling is a popular way to explore the Country Park.<br data-start=\"1638\" data-end=\"1641\" \/>The canal forms part of <strong data-start=\"1665\" data-end=\"1706\"><span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">National Cycle Network Route 3<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1709\" data-end=\"1886\">\n<li data-section-id=\"17gioea\" data-start=\"1709\" data-end=\"1755\">The towpath is flat and accessible for all<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"qzxmns\" data-start=\"1756\" data-end=\"1812\">Cyclists must dismount under bridges<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"hn7v8g\" data-start=\"1813\" data-end=\"1886\">Please give way to pedestrians and horses towing the barge<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n<li class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item>\r\n<a href=\"#mac4\" id=\"head4\" role=\"tab\" class=\"accordion-title\" aria-controls=\"mac4\">By bus <\/a><div id=\"mac4\" aria-labelledby=\"head4\" class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><div class=\"targetclass\" >\n<h2 data-section-id=\"go1h0r\" data-start=\"1893\" data-end=\"1905\">\ud83d\ude8c By Bus<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2425 alignright\" title=\"Tidcombe Circular Bus\" src=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/grandwesterncanal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/107\/2020\/04\/Tidcombe-circular-bus.jpg\" alt=\"Tidcombe Circular Bus\" width=\"200\" height=\"142\" \/>There are regular bus services from Tiverton Bus Station, that stop near the Country Park.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Local routes from Tiverton Bus Station:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/bustimes.org\/services\/353-tiverton-tidcombe-circular\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">353 &#8211;
