The final design was a combination of the children\u2019s views and a theme inspired by the canal\u2019s setting and natural environment.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/grandwesterncanal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/107\/2018\/05\/Swing-2-children-enhanced-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-2117 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/grandwesterncanal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/107\/2018\/05\/Swing-2-children-enhanced-1.jpg\" alt=\"children on swing\" width=\"542\" height=\"434\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The themed play equipment includes slides, swings and a roundabout. Its centrepiece is a special \u2018boat\u2019 for children to climb and explore which can be customised with different designs.<\/p>\n<p>The play park was unveiled by Councillor Ray Radford, who was Devon County Council\u2019s chairman, the councillor for Willand and Uffculme, Mid Devon District Councillor for Halberton and the chairman of the Canal\u2019s Joint Advisory Committee.
