Friends\u00a0of the Nations&#8217;\u00a0Libraries\u00a0(FNL) helps eligible institutions to purchase rare printed books, manuscripts, records and archives of historical, literary, artistic, architectural, musical or similar interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grants typically range from \u00a3200 to \u00a320,000 and can be used towards acquisition costs only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applications are accepted from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the national libraries and the libraries of national museums<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>record offices and archives services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>university and specialist libraries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>any museum, gallery or collecting institution to which the public has reasonable access and which, in the opinion of the FNL, constitutes a proper repository for the proposed acquisition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Regional, national and specialist libraries, archives and records offices can apply for grants to acquire rare books and manuscripts that they would not otherwise have the resources to purchase.
