The objectives are to provide:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>employers with financial support to recruit eligible young people into suitable jobs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>young people with the opportunity to develop the skills and experience\u202fthey need to move towards sustained employment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The scheme offers a grant of \u00a33,000 to employers of all sizes and sectors&nbsp;who recruit an eligible young person aged between 18 and 24 who has been out of work and on Universal Credit for&nbsp;6 months&nbsp;and not eligible for the Jobs Guarantee&nbsp;(which is normally accessed from 18 months).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Employers will need to register their vacancies with the scheme. These must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>offer\u00a0genuine, paid work for at least 25 hours per week\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>last at least\u00a0the minimum term of\u00a016 weeks\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>pay at least the applicable National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be comparable to roles the employer offers outside the\u00a0Scheme\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>not displace existing employees, workers,\u00a0apprentices\u00a0or contractors\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>not be made up of more than 50%\u00a0online training\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The grant will be staged with \u00a31,800 paid after 6 weeks and \u00a31,200 after 18 weeks after earnings are verified through HM Revenue and Customs Real Time Information. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Refer to the Grant Guidance for details of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/youth-jobs-grant\/youth-jobs-grant-grant-guidance#employer-and-vacancy-process\" rel=\"noopener\">Eligible Employers<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Youth Jobs Grant is designed to support employers to recruit young people.
