Each year, Biffa Award makes a small number of grants of between \u00a3250,000 and \u00a31,000,000 for projects that have national or regional significance. The 2026 Partnership Grants Scheme is now open for Expressions of Interest. This year, the location criteria have changed and projects can be up to 25 miles away from a Biffa operation (see Devon locations below)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are two themes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Built Environment<\/strong> \u2013 for projects that restore, modernise and\/or improve facilities such as cultural, heritage or visitor centres. The facility must be inclusive and be open to the general public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Natural Environment<\/strong> \u2013 for projects that protect and restore species and habitats. Projects should support the delivery of national or local environmental strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Note that projects must sit clearly within one of the themes and cannot cut across both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The funding is part of the Landfill Communities Fund and projects must therefore be located within 25 miles of a Biffa operation: there are Biffa sites at Plympton, Plymstock, Woodbury Salterton and Newton Abbot, as well as Chard in Somerset and Bude in Cornwall. Your project also needs to be within 10 miles of a licensed landfill site. There are postcode checkers on the Biffa Award website where you can check if your project is eligible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In order to be able to apply please note that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Charitable and not-for-profit organisations can apply. Local authorities, schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities are not eligible.
