The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) has launched a new scheme to support innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with their intellectual property (IP) such as copyright, designs, trademarks and patents. IP Advance provides targeted advice and support to help businesses\u00a0better\u00a0understand their IP, develop an IP strategy and, where appropriate, support to implement that\u00a0strategy.<\/p>\n

There are two levels of support:<\/p>\n

  1. IP Audit\u00a0provides \u00a32,250 (including VAT) towards the cost of an IP audit. The\u00a0business\u00a0must contribute \u00a3750 towards the audit costs.<\/li>\n
  2. IP Access\u00a0provides up to \u00a32,250 (including VAT) for IP professional advice to progress an IP management strategy\u00a0or implement recommendations\u00a0from\u00a0their\u00a0IP audit. The business must contribute at least 50% of the costs of the services.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
