The charity stipulates that its support is for people with global intellectual impairment (onset before the age of 18) who need support\/help to fulfil ordinary daily activities.<\/p>\n<p>Grants can be provided towards building\/renovation\/refurbishment works for residential, nursing and respite care, and schools; Snoezelen rooms; employment schemes; play schemes and play therapy; social activities; support for families; and support for independent living.<\/p>\n<p>There are two grant schemes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Small Grant Programme \u2013 grants up to \u00a39,000<\/li>\n<li>General Grant Programme \u2013 grants of \u00a39,000 and above<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Funding can be awarded for capital and revenue costs as well as for specific projects and for general running\/core costs.<\/p>\n<p>Applications are accepted from registered charities, schools and PTAs, Community Benefit Societies and other exempt charities.<\/p>\n<p>The Baily Thomas Charitable Fund also provides research grants for established researchers in university departments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Baily Thomas Charitable Fund provides grants for general and research work with people with learning disabilities.
