{"id":2950,"date":"2023-01-10T12:21:52","date_gmt":"2023-01-10T12:21:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/fundingnews-new\/?post_type=tb_fund&#038;p=2950"},"modified":"2023-08-16T15:45:29","modified_gmt":"2023-08-16T14:45:29","slug":"nuffield-foundation-research-grants","status":"publish","type":"tb_fund","link":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/fundingnews\/fund\/nuffield-foundation-research-grants\/","title":{"rendered":"Nuffield Foundation: Research Grants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Nuffield Foundation provides funding for research and analysis that has the capacity to make a difference to people\u2019s lives by influencing policy and practice.<\/p>\n<p>The Research, Development and Analysis Fund is for projects to inform the design and operation of social policy and practice across three core domains of:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Education<\/strong>: with a particular focus on: skills and capabilities; teaching quality; young people\u2019s pathways; and educational disadvantage<\/p>\n<p><strong>Welfare<\/strong>: for projects that have a clear and direct focus on improving economic and social policy, practice and well-being including the balance between family and work; the effects of economic policies and systems; transition to net-zero economy; and improving quality of life for older people<\/p>\n<p><strong>Justice<\/strong>: particularly regarding issues of law and justice that have the most significant effect on the lives, opportunities, and social well-being of vulnerable and disadvantaged people.<\/p>\n<p>Examples of specific topics of interest to the Foundation are: early childhood; skills and employment; the cost of living; geographical inequalities; quality of life in later life; the quality of, and access to, public services; and the long-term implications of Covid<\/p>\n<p>Applications must be based around impartial, objective and rigorous research. The following types of research can be funded:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Research reviews, synthesis and translation<\/li>\n<li>Data collection and analysis<\/li>\n<li>Intervention development and early evaluation<\/li>\n<li>Developmental projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>UK organisations can apply: projects must be led by a named Principal Investigator (PI), who is the lead applicant.<\/p>\n<p>Applications for research, development and analysis grants are usually between \u00a310,000 and \u00a3750,000.
