It has launched two new grant schemes.<\/p>\n<p>Medium and large charities and not-for-profit organisations with well-established ways of working may apply.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be based in the UK.<\/li>\n<li>Have been active for at least three years.<\/li>\n<li>Have had an annual income of at least \u00a3150,000 per annum over that period.<\/li>\n<li>Be working in the field of transport for disabled people.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Charities and organisations can apply for grants from \u00a3100,000 up to \u00a34 million.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wheelchair Grants<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Grants should be used to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Help individuals to source quality equipment by topping up self-funding.<\/li>\n<li>Raise awareness of the challenges faced by disabled people in obtaining suitable, quality and affordable wheelchairs.<\/li>\n<li>Develop or improve programmes which fund high quality and affordable equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Support existing initiatives which provide best practice solutions but need further support to remain operational or scale up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Community Transport Grants<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Grants should be used to cover:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Staffing and\/or volunteer costs to increase supply of Community Transport services.<\/li>\n<li>Leasing or buying Community Transport vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Initiatives to influence transport strategy, policy and funding.<\/li>\n<li>Partnerships\/collaborations which drive efficiency at the organisational and systems level.<\/li>\n<li>Best practice interventions to continue\/scale up work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Motability provides grants to charities and organisations that support the transport needs of people with disabilities.
