Fund title: Small Business Workforce Fund
Focus of fund/fund aims:
Small businesses in Devon can apply for assistance with recruiting a STEM graduate intern and a contribution towards their salary
Funding available for a limited time only
The University of Plymouth’s STEM Graduates into Business project is providing the Small Business Workforce Fund to support eligible small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in Devon with the recruitment of STEM graduates. To provide flexibility to businesses facing changing market demands, this temporary fund, which is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), allows graduates to be employed as a paid-intern for three months to fill any existing skills gaps.
The Small Business Workforce Fund will provide incentive payments to cover up to 50% of the graduate employee salary – up to £200 per week, or £2,400 over three months (also available pro-rata).
The scheme also provides access to adaptable graduates, with the relevant skills and abilities and therefore removes any upfront recruitment costs.
This fund is designed to support SMEs with recruitment and skills needs during this uncertain time and funding is limited.
