Fund title: Secondary Data Analysis Initiative
Focus of fund/fund aims:
To demonstrate the value of existing data resources by utilising them to deliver high-quality, high-impact research
applications can be submitted at any time
The SDAI aims to deliver high-quality, high-impact research through the deeper exploitation of major data resources created by the Economic & Social Research Council and other agencies.
The initiative aims to encourage more use of the huge range of high-quality data resources, including those held by government departments, which can be used to undertake research that is directly relevant to policymakers.
Proposals should focus on the generation of non-academic impact (eg. scientific, societal or economic impact) by addressing substantive research questions. They should:
- support the innovative and creative use of data or methodologies
- support capacity-building in the area of secondary data analysis
Applications are encouraged from research organisations in collaboration with other partners.
SDAI will provide up to 18 months funding at 80% of full economic costs with an overall limit of £200,000 per grant.
