Fund title: Resource Action Fund: Textiles Recycling and Re-Use
Focus of fund/fund aims:
Grants to support projects that will enable textile waste materials to be recycled or re-used
18 June 2020
WRAP, the Waste and Resources Action Programme, has an £18million budget provided by Defra to support resource efficiency projects. The Resource Action Fund is for waste management projects including waste reduction and diverting waste from landfill.
The grants will support key policy outcomes in the areas of food, plastics, textiles, recycling infrastructure and litter. There are separate timetables for each policy area.
Applications can now be made for grants to support projects that will enable textile waste materials to be recycled or re-used, diverting this waste from landfill or incineration, ensuring that it remains a valuable resource. Projects should be innovative and help to address and overcome barriers to textile recycling or re-use.
Grants of between £20,000 and £170,000 are available to organisations of any size, both commercial and not-for-profit. The money is for capital expenditure only: either for equipment or technologies (excluding software and apps) that enable recycling or re-use of clothing or linen waste textiles. Each project will require match funding: 10% from not-for-profits and 50% from commercial organisations.
